The Yacht-Master is positioned as a more elegant take on the iconic Submariner diver's watch. Both models feature a similar design set. However. while the Submariner was developed for use under the sea. the Yacht-Master is much more suited for life above the surface. For example. the bezel is bi-directional. and the case is only water-resistant up to 100 meters. compared to the Submariner's 300-meter depth rating. Furthermore. the Yacht-Master often features a more luxurious design set with a precious metal bezel and more tapered lugs. Ref. 16623 is a two-tone example of the series that displays the time on a stunning white dial.
