The pre-owned James Cameron Rolex 116660 Sea-Dweller Deepsea was the first reference in the series. Introduced in 2008. the Deepsea brought with it an increased depth rating of up to 3.900 meters/12.800 feet. Previously. the highest water-resistance available in the Rolex catalog was the Sea-Dweller at 4.000 feet. Its incredible waterproofness. coupled with a contemporary and robust design. made the Deepsea an instant success among dive watch collectors. As a somewhat newer addition to the Rolex catalog. the ref. 116660 utilizes a stunning ceramic bezel insert. a larger Maxi display on the dial. and a flat-link Oyster bracelet secured by a folding Oysterlock clasp. The case is also larger than traditional Rolex divers. measuring 44mm in diameter. and includes a Helium Escape Valve. a thicker 5mm sapphire crystal. and a Ring Command System. allowing it to withstand extreme depths and making it a highly prized collector's item on the used Rolex market.
