Reference 16710 came to market shortly after the GMT Master II debuted with a then-new independent GMT hand. With the improved 4th hand came the need for a larger case to accommodate the modified movement. Ref. 16710 introduced the series to a slimmer. more refined movement and case size. making it one of the most successful 5-digit GMT Master II watches ever produced. Part of its appeal is also that it features an all-steel finish and the option for the famous two-tone Pepsi bezel. as seen on the pre-owned Rolex for sale here. This edition was produced in the 1990s and features Tritium hour markers and hands.
