| Case: | Excellent thick case that shows wear from age. it has scratches and light nicks throughout. Comes with a very good bezel insert with scratches and wear. The bezel has faded to a lovely graphite grey color. The pip in the bezel is a later replacement. Case back is stamped: 16800. Reference and serial numbers are crisp and well defined. New scratch resistant sapphire crystal. |

| Bracelet: | Excellent stainless steel 93150 Oyster with 11 links. 593 end links and divers extension. The bracelet is a later replacement and the back of the clasp is stamped "S S8"indicating it is from 1994. The bracelet shows some wear and has some stretch. |

Vintage Rolex Submariner 16800

The 16800 is referred to as a transitional model. Rolex went from acrylic to sapphire crystal. an updated movement with quick-set date. and at the beginning of the run the watches featured matte dials like the previous 1680. Later in the production Rolex changed the dials to glossy with white gold surrounds. These are known as transitional models due to the blend of older and new features Rolex decided to use together. These early 16800s with matte dials are the perfect mix of vintage styling with modern touches like the sapphire glass and quick-set date.
This example is in overall honest. attractive condition and would be perfect for an everyday watch. The bezel has faded ever so slightly and it gives off a graphite color. adding to the charm of this Submariner.
