Known by Rolex aficionados as the James Cameron model. the Sea-Dweller Deepsea reference 116660 features a distinct D-Blue maxi dial. The inspiration behind this particular model came after James Cameron's historic dive to the Challenger Deep. Its blue and black two-color gradient dial closely mirrors the transition of light through water while returning from deep saturation dives. The construction of the 44mm Oyster case is a marvel in watch design with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. Cerachrom ceramic unidirectional bezel. helium escape valve. and Triplock screw-down crown. An innovative process of screwing the case back. bezel. and Triplock screw-down crown to the Monobloc middle case allows this watch to travel to depths of up to 12.800 feet. As it returns to the surface. a helium escape valve located at the 10-hour marker is hard at work. protecting the 3135 self-winding movement within. This sports watch is also equipped with an Oyster bracelet made of virtually indestructible 904L stainless steel. flat links. and an Oysterlock clasp with a Glidelock extension system that can be adjusted without the use of tools to fit perfectly over wetsuits.
