The GMT Master series was developed for use while in flight. Its feature set includes a 24-hour rotatable bezel and a dedicated GMT hand. By adjusting the bezel. the wearer can read both local and home time simultaneously. The GMT Master II series was introduced in the 1980s and brought with it an upgraded GMT hand. It can now be adjusted independently of the other hands on the dial. allowing the wearer to read two time zones on the dial and a third on the bezel.
